RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. — An AMR ambulance crew was injured and a patient died after the ambulance they were in crashed into a palm tree in Riverside County.

The crash occurred just after 6:45 a.m. on April 5 in the 12000 block of El Sobrante and Willow roads, reported.

The Riverside County Fire Department said that when crews arrived at the crash scene, they discovered one person with serious injuries and two others with minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred when the driver lost control, veered off the road and crashed into the palm tree. Investigators noted that the ambulance did not have its lights or sirens activated during the collision.

AMR stated they will be conducting a thorough review of the incident.
