Despite their federal classification as 鈥渙ffice and administrative support occupations,鈥� emergency dispatchers are the first line of defense during what could be the worst moment in a person鈥檚 life.

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, local government, public safety agencies and advocacy groups are offering their thanks and appreciation to the headset heroes who literally answer the call.
