Screening of 鈥楬onorable but Broken: EMS in Crisis鈥 held for Congress

The documentary aims to show legislators the challenges and issues faced by EMS across the country

WASHINGTON 鈥 The鈥鈥痟as announced a special screening of the documentary film titled 鈥淗onorable but Broken: EMS in Crisis鈥 exclusively for members of the U.S. Congress. The documentary aims to bring attention to the critical issues and obstacles that EMS professionals face daily, with narration by Sarah Jessica Parker.

The documentary was being produced by Bryony Gilbey, a former 鈥淐BS News,鈥 鈥60 Minutes,鈥 鈥淎BC News鈥 and 鈥淒iscovery Channel鈥 producer, and mother of three EMS professionals; and Rich Diefenbach, a former deputy bureau chief for 鈥淐BS News鈥 in New York & Los Angeles.鈥

Gilbey and Diefenbach produced the film after learning of the challenges EMS workers faced while being stretched to the brink during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement from the Academy, the screening serves as an opportunity for leaders in the EMS field to present a collective message to Congress about the challenges EMS faces.
