Jun. 24 鈥 Bobby Sherman, a 1970s teen idol and heartthrob, has died. He was 81.
The 鈥淛ulie, Do You Love Me鈥 singer鈥檚 death was announced via Instagram in a shared post from his wife, Brigitte Poublon, and 鈥淔ull House鈥 actor John Stamos.
鈥淔rom one ex-teen idol, to another 鈥 rest in peace Bobby Sherman,鈥 Stamos, who recently lost longtime friend and music legend Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, wrote. 鈥淭his is from his wife, my friend, Brigitte:
鈥溾業t is with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Bobby Sherman. Bobby left this world holding my hand, just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. I was his Cinderella, and he was my Prince Charming. Even in his final days, he stayed strong for me. That鈥檚 who Bobby was鈥攂rave, gentle, and full of light.

鈥楢s he rested, I read him fan letters from all over the world鈥攚ords of love and gratitude that lifted his spirits and reminded him of how deeply he was cherished. He soaked up every word with that familiar sparkle in his eye. And yes, he still found time to crack well-timed jokes鈥擝obby had a wonderful, wicked sense of humor. It never left him. He could light up a room with a look, a quip, or one of his classic one-liners.鈥欌
He made the girls swoon, starred on screen and sang memorable hits such as 鈥淓asy Come, Easy Go,鈥 鈥淟ittle Woman,鈥 and 鈥淟a La La (If I Had You).鈥 Sherman also performed for the cameras as an actor for 鈥淗ere Comes The Brides,鈥 鈥淕etting Together,鈥 鈥淓mergency,鈥 and 鈥淭he Love Boat.鈥 His final acting credit came in 1997 for 鈥淔razier.鈥
In an admirable turn of events, Sherman eventually left the public spotlight to be a public servant. Sherman notably became a paramedic serving in Los Angeles as a trainer with the LAPD and even as a reserve sheriff deputy for California鈥檚 San Bernardino County, his wife noted in her announcement.
鈥淗e traded sold-out concerts and magazine covers for the back of an ambulance, becoming an EMT and a trainer with the LAPD. He saved lives,鈥 she wrote. 鈥淗e showed us what real heroism looks like鈥攓uiet, selfless, and deeply human.鈥
No official cause of death has been made public; however, Poublon announced in March 2025 that Sherman has Stage 4 cancer.
