STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A veteran paramedic and field training officer with Stanly County Emergency Services, was killed in a vehicle accident while driving to work on Jan. 7.
Lieutenant William Oxendine had served the community for over 20 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Central Rural Volunteer Fire Department, reported.
Oxendine succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite the immediate efforts of first responders.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
