‘Code 3’ teaser trailer: A chaotic, foul-mouthed love letter to EMS life

The film, co-written by a former paramedic, stars Rainn Wilson as a veteran on his last shift training a new recruit, played by Lil Rel Howery, amid weapons calls and combative patients

LOS ANGELES — The red-band teaser trailer for the EMS comedy movie “Code 3" has been released, offering a raw look at the chaos of life on the ambulance.

Set to hit theaters on Sept. 12, the action/comedy film stars Rainn Wilson (“The Office”) as a burned-out paramedic named Randy on his final 24-hour shift, tasked with training a new recruit, played by Lil Rel Howery (“Free Guy”). The script was co-written by former paramedic Patrick Pianezza, giving the story a layer of authenticity.

“All of the shit you’re about to see happened to a real, actual paramedic. Me,” Wilson’s character says in the trailer’s opening moments.

The teaser includes encounters with combative patients, weapons calls, questionable bets and naked runs — all set against a backdrop of burnout, mentorship and gallows humor.

Directed by Christopher Leone, “Code 3" also stars Aimee Carrero (“Elena of Avalor”), Rob Riggle (“21 Jump Street,” “Step Brothers”) and Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”).
