NEW ORLEANS 鈥 A paramedic was hospitalized Wednesday morning after he was hit by a car outside a 7th Ward fire station, according to New Orleans EMS.
The paramedic was hit at around 7 a.m. in the fire station parking lot at North Miro Street and Elysian Fields Avenue, according to NOEMS. The EMS crew was stationed there and awaiting a call when a car left the road and hit the man, seriously injuring him.
NOEMS said he was in 鈥渇air condition鈥 at a trauma center as of 10:19 a.m.
The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the crash and did not provide more information, including whether the driver remained on scene.
